Lyn Taitt Taitt is the Trinadadian musician, arranger, and bandleader whose guitar style transformed Jamaican Ska and Rock Steady. He recorded extensively with The Skatalites, The Baba Brooks Band and The Supersonics before and after establishing his own groups. Lyn Taitt and the Comets played Ska during 1964 through '65, while Lyn Taitt and The Jets defined the Rock Steady sound from 1966 into 1968. Roy and Yvonne Roy Panton and Yvonne Harrison each made hit songs before they joined together in 1964. Roy and Millie Small charted in Jamaica with "We'll Meet" and Yvonne and Derrick Morgan made the top 10 with their "Meekly Wait". When Millie and Derrick departed to work for extended periods in England in 1963, Roy and Yvonne became a duet. Their first release, "Two Roads," was a hit when it dropped in the spring of 1964. It became a bigger hit when Roy and Yvonne were featured in the film "This Is Ska" singing it. They both went on to enjoy solo success during the Rock Steady era. Yvonne with "The Chase", "Take My Hand" and "Near To You," while Roy made an impact with "Endless Memory." Now based in Scarborough, Ontario, they've reunited and sound better than ever.
